Scarlett Johansson Fumes Over Shocking AI Video Targeting Kanye West
Scarlett Johansson Slams AI Video Featuring Jewish Celebrities Condemning Kanye West
Scarlett Johansson has fiercely criticized a “terrifying” AI-generated video that features digital versions of Jewish celebrities condemning Kanye West’s latest anti-Semitic actions.
Hollywood has largely turned against West, 47, following a three-day spree of racist, sexist, and homophobic tweets on X (formerly Twitter). Adding fuel to the fire, West also began selling swastika T-shirts in his latest controversial stunt.
The Controversial AI Video
In response to West’s offensive behavior, an AI-generated video surfaced online, portraying digitally-created versions of high-profile Jewish celebrities denouncing his actions. The video quickly went viral, sparking intense debate about the ethics of AI and deepfake technology.
However, the video itself has become a major point of contention, with some celebrities furious about their likeness being used without consent. Johansson, 40, voiced strong concerns about the misuse of AI and called for urgent legal action to regulate its use.
Scarlett Johansson’s Powerful Response
In a statement obtained by People, Johansson condemned the unauthorized AI video and emphasized the growing dangers of artificial intelligence:
“It has been brought to my attention by family members and friends that an AI-generated video featuring my likeness, in response to an anti-Semitic view, has been circulating online and gaining traction. I am a Jewish woman who has no tolerance for anti-Semitism or hate speech of any kind. But I also firmly believe that the potential for hate speech multiplied by AI is a far greater threat than any one person who takes accountability for it.”

Johansson, who has previously spoken out about AI-related concerns, expressed frustration over the lack of legislative action in the United States:
“There is a 1,000-foot wave coming regarding AI that several progressive countries, not including the United States, have responded to in a responsible manner. It is terrifying that the U.S. government is paralyzed when it comes to passing legislation that protects all of its citizens against the imminent dangers of AI.”
The actress urged lawmakers to prioritize AI regulations, calling it a bipartisan issue that “enormously affects the immediate future of humanity.”
Hollywood Reacts to Kanye West’s Behavior
West’s latest tirade has led to widespread backlash from Hollywood stars, including Friends actors David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow, as well as Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Fisher, who converted to Judaism when she married Baron Cohen in 2010, labeled West a “monster” and urged her followers to unfollow him:
“Hey friends, can you please unfollow Kanye? Did you know this is the only thing for sale on his website after placing a Super Bowl commercial? Fk this monster forever. No tolerance for this st.”
Schwimmer, meanwhile, denounced West as a “deranged bigot” and called for his removal from all social media platforms:
“I don’t know what’s worse—the fact that he identifies as a Nazi (which implies he wants to exterminate ALL marginalized communities, including his own) or the fact that there is not sufficient OUTRAGE to remove and ban him from all social media at this point. Silence is complicity.”
Shortly after Schwimmer’s remarks, West’s X account was taken down once again.
The AI Video’s Content and Public Reaction
The AI-generated video that sparked Johansson’s outrage featured digital versions of celebrities such as Johansson, Schwimmer, Kudrow, Baron Cohen, Jack Black, and Jake Gyllenhaal. Each AI-generated persona appeared wearing a white T-shirt featuring a hamsa—a Middle Eastern symbol of protection and unity—with a raised middle finger and a Star of David above the word “Kanye.”
A fake Adam Sandler closed out the video by giving the middle finger to the camera and stating: “Enough is enough. Join the fight against anti-Semitism.”
The video was widely shared on X by Israeli AI expert Ori Bejerano, who called out West’s actions as deliberate incitement against Jews:
“This is not a mistake, not a gimmick, and not ‘artistic provocation.’ This is a deliberate incitement against Jews. This is the normalization of Nazi symbols in front of tens of millions of people. This is a call for violence disguised as pop culture.”

West Faces Consequences
West’s recent antics have led to severe consequences. His Yeezy.com website has vanished from the internet after Shopify removed it for violating its terms. Additionally, Los Angeles-based talent agency 33 & West dropped him as a client. Daniel McCartney, an agent at 33 & West, made the announcement via Instagram:
“Effective immediately, I am no longer representing YE (F/K/A Kanye West) due to his recent harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33 & West can stand for. Peace and love to all.”
It remains unclear how long the agency had been working with West before severing ties.
Scarlett Johansson’s History with AI Controversy
This is not Johansson’s first battle against AI-related issues. In 2023, she accused OpenAI of using a voice on ChatGPT that closely resembled hers without permission. OpenAI denied the claims, but the controversy added fuel to an ongoing debate about AI ethics and intellectual property rights.
Johansson’s latest statement has reignited concerns about AI’s growing influence, particularly in the entertainment industry, where deepfakes and unauthorized digital likenesses pose serious ethical and legal dilemmas.

The Future of AI Regulation
Johansson’s call for legislative action has intensified the discussion around AI regulations. While some countries have moved to implement responsible AI laws, the U.S. remains behind in passing comprehensive legislation. As AI technology advances, celebrities and public figures may continue to face increasing threats of unauthorized digital replication.
For now, Johansson remains firm in her stance:
“We must call out the misuse of AI, no matter its messaging, or we risk losing a hold on reality.”
