“Bully” to Drop on North West’s Birthday

Ye’s 11th studio album, first announced during his performance in China last September, is officially set to release in June. According to Ye, his eldest daughter North West has played a significant role in both the album’s creative process and its release date.

During the interview, Ye told LaBoy:

“My eldest daughter said it should drop in June.”

When LaBoy asked whether the release date would coincide with Ye’s birthday or North’s, Ye turned to his daughter and asked:

“Didn’t Yeezus drop on your birthday?”

After North nodded in agreement, Ye confirmed:

“That’s right, so we’re dropping ‘Bully’ on your birthday. It’s her favorite album.”

This means that “Bully” will likely be released around June 15-18, aligning with North West’s birthday and the release anniversary of Yeezus.

Ye’s Take on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar Feud

Aside from discussing his album, Ye also shared his opinion on the ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, particularly whether Kendrick has truly “killed” Drake in this rap battle.

When asked, “Do you think Kendrick killed Drake?”, Ye agreed but added that it might only be temporary:

“Yeah, for now. But you can never count out someone like Steph Curry. That man can put up 200 points in one song or something like that.”

Ye continued by acknowledging Drake’s influence on hip-hop:

“Look at Tyler, The Creator’s freestyle, ‘That Guy.’ Drake added something to the algorithm, to our frequency. He pushed us. Future pushed us. And now, Kendrick is pushing the frequency.”

According to Ye, what Kendrick Lamar is doing right now sets a new standard for hip-hop, and rappers who fail to evolve might get left behind:

“Look at when Twista came out. There were rappers who didn’t study, but then JAY-Z realized it could be done. If you’re not really studying rap as a professional sport, like what Kendrick is doing, you can get wiped out. You can get erased.”

Ye believes that Kendrick Lamar is redefining the game, and those who don’t keep up might quickly fall off.

With Ye’s perspective adding fuel to the discussion, the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle shows no signs of slowing down, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what happens next.
