Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ Family Responds to Allison Holker’s Memoir Allegations

Stephen “tWitch” Boss’ family is speaking out for the first time since his tragic death in 2022. In a rare interview, his mother, Connie Boss Alexander, and younger brother, Dre Rose, reacted to the allegations made by Allison Holker, Stephen’s wife, in her memoir This Far. The family revealed that they were blindsided by the portrayal of Stephen in the book and are seeking clarity.

Shock and Disappointment Over Memoir’s Depiction

In their first interview since Stephen’s death, Connie and Dre expressed their shock over how Allison depicted Stephen in her memoir, which was released in January 2025. The memoir includes sensitive details about Stephen’s alleged drug use, financial struggles, and excerpts from his private journals. In the book, Allison also claims to have discovered entries that allude to Stephen’s past experience with sexual abuse.

Dre, who sat down with Gayle King for the interview that aired on CBS Mornings, emphasized that the family shouldn’t have had to learn about these personal revelations through the media. “I think people deserve the ability to share their story,” Dre said, adding that the public nature of the book and the campaign around it made it difficult for the family. “We shouldn’t have to find out in the media. We’re a family,” he stated.

Seeking Transparency About Stephen’s Journals

One of the key points of contention for Connie and Dre was the way Allison handled the private journals Stephen left behind. While Allison explained in her book that she used the journals to provide insight into their life together and the struggles Stephen faced, Connie and Dre were unaware of their existence until Allison revealed them publicly.

Connie expressed a desire to read the journals herself, stating, “I think so. Just to feel closer to him because these are his thoughts. Maybe get a clearer understanding.” As Stephen’s mother, she hopes that reading the journals will help her gain a deeper understanding of his inner world.

Dre also called for more transparency in how the journals were used in the book. “I would love to see all of the journals in its entirety,” he remarked, believing that the complete contents of the journals would offer a more balanced view. “There’s things in those journals that are good. And I also believe there’s journals about his personal life, his marital life, that’s in there.” He further expressed concern that only selective portions of the journals were shared, stating, “I think there’s been a cherry-picking of things… talk about it all.”

Connie Defends Her Son’s Legacy

Before the interview aired, Connie took to Instagram to address the allegations made in Allison’s memoir. On January 8, she wrote, “As his mother, I will not let these accusations go unanswered. We will not stand by while his name and legacy are tarnished.” This message highlighted the family’s determination to protect Stephen’s reputation and honor his memory.

Allison Holker Clarifies Her Intentions

Amid the criticism, Allison clarified the intentions behind her book. In a post on Instagram Stories, she stated, “I want to be clear that my only intention in writing the book is to share my own story as well as part of my life with Stephen to help other people. Just like you.”

While the family’s response to the book has been one of hurt and disappointment, Allison remains focused on the purpose she hopes her memoir will serve—offering a personal perspective on her life with Stephen and providing support to others going through similar struggles.
