Nikki Garcia’s Valentine’s Day Plans After Divorce from Artem Chigvintsev
Despite her recent divorce from Artem Chigvintsev, Nikki Garcia is choosing to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the most important man in her life—her 4-year-old son, Matteo.
Nikki Garcia Prioritizes Son Matteo on Valentine’s Day
Nearly three months after the former WWE star and the Dancing With the Stars pro finalized their divorce—and mutually dropped their restraining orders—Nikki, 41, is focusing on what truly matters: her bond with Matteo.
“For me right now, it’s anything with my son,” Nikki shared in an exclusive interview with E! News. “He gives me the greatest love ever. He fills my cup up beyond.”
So, what does her ideal Valentine’s Day look like? Something simple yet special.
“It would be having a really fun lunch with french fries,” Nikki said, laughing. “That is his favorite, and now it’s my favorite.”
Brie Garcia’s Perfect Date Night with Husband Bryan Danielson
While Nikki is keeping things low-key with Matteo, her twin sister Brie Garcia has a different idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day.
Brie, who is married to WWE alum Bryan Danielson (formerly known as Daniel Bryan), envisions something relaxing and romantic.
“A 90-minute couples’ massage,” she told E! News. “And the whole shebang.”
Despite their different plans, the Garcia twins continue to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders—both in life and love.
“We’ve been through everything since the womb,” Brie shared. “Our bond is so close. I can always rely on Nikki, and Nikki can rely on me.”
Nikki Garcia Opens Up About Divorce and Co-Parenting
The past few months have been challenging for Nikki, as she navigated the aftermath of her divorce and dealt with Artem’s August 2023 arrest on suspicion of felony domestic violence. While no charges were filed against him, the situation led to both Nikki and Artem filing restraining orders against each other, citing allegations of abuse and aggression.
Through it all, Nikki has remained focused on protecting Matteo and ensuring he feels secure.
When it came to explaining the divorce to her son, Nikki opted for a simple and honest approach.
“I’ve used words like divorce, but it’s only been when he’s asked,” she explained in a recent Us Weekly interview.
Rather than dwelling on labels, Nikki chose to frame it in a way that Matteo could easily understand.
“Everything’s kind of been about us just having our own homes,” she said. “You get to go see Mommy, and you get to go see Daddy.”
Keeping Family Traditions Alive
Despite their split, Nikki and Artem are committed to co-parenting and maintaining a healthy environment for Matteo.
They even made sure to spend Christmas together to create lasting memories for their son.
“On Christmas, we made sure we were both there when we baked Santa’s cookies,” Nikki shared. “Matteo went to bed, and we both were there when he woke up. Because he’s our focus, we want to keep those moments.”
Moving Forward with Love and Strength
While this Valentine’s Day may look different for Nikki, she is embracing self-love and cherishing her time with Matteo.
As she continues to heal from her high-profile breakup, Nikki proves that love isn’t just about romance—it’s also about family, resilience, and prioritizing what truly matters.
