Lyle Menendez’s Wife Rebecca Sneed Announces Separation, Denies Infidelity Rumors
Rebecca Sneed, the wife of Lyle Menendez, has addressed the status of their relationship, clearing up rumors about infidelity. The attorney took to Facebook on Friday to share that she and Lyle have been separated for some time, according to E! News.
However, Sneed was quick to clarify that despite their separation, they remain “best friends and family.” She emphasized their ongoing commitment to each other’s wellbeing, stating, “I still manage his Facebook pages with his contributions, and I am forever committed to fighting tirelessly for the freedom of Lyle and Erik Menendez, which has been clear for many years.”

Sneed concluded her post by assuring supporters that she would continue to update them on the progress of the case, as she believes they all share the common goal of seeing Lyle and Erik free. “I will never stop fighting for them,” she wrote.
Addressing the Infidelity Rumors
Sneed also addressed the rumors surrounding the reason for their separation. She firmly stated that their split had nothing to do with infidelity. This statement comes after The Sun reported last week that the convicted murderer, now 56, had allegedly been having an affair with a 21-year-old student from Manchester University.
In response, Lyle shared a statement on November 7, reflecting on his “challenging” marriage and the journey of learning to be a better husband and partner while serving his life sentence. “Next November will mark my 20th wedding anniversary,” he wrote. “I am forever grateful for Sneed’s unwavering support and trust, which has greatly contributed to my journey of becoming a better person.”

Lyle and Rebecca Menendez’s Marriage
Lyle and Rebecca were married in November 2003, while Lyle and his brother Erik Menendez were serving life sentences for the murder of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez, in 1989. The brothers were sentenced to life without parole in 1996.
The Menendez brothers’ story was recently depicted in Netflix’s true crime film, “Monsters,” where Nicholas Alexander Chavez and Cooper Koch portrayed Lyle and Erik, respectively. Since the film’s release, several high-profile figures have advocated for the brothers’ release, citing the years of abuse they suffered at the hands of their parents. In an NBC News op-ed, Kim Kardashian argued that the brothers never had a chance to be heard, helped, or saved.
In late October, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office filed a motion for re-sentencing. Meanwhile, Erik Menendez publicly criticized the Netflix series in September, calling it a “terrible plot” and expressing dissatisfaction with how the characters were portrayed via his wife Tammi Menendez’s social media accounts.
