Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show Shocks Fans With Serena Williams Cameo
Kendrick Lamar made Super Bowl 2025 history with a jaw-dropping halftime show, and one of the biggest surprises of the night was the appearance of tennis legend Serena Williams. The 23-time Grand Slam champion took center stage during Lamar’s performance of “Not Like Us,” the viral Drake diss track, leaving fans in shock and excitement.
With a lineup of unexpected cameos, including Samuel L. Jackson and SZA, Kendrick’s performance at the Caesars Superdome in Louisiana on February 9 was anything but ordinary. But it was Serena Williams, who was once rumored to have dated Drake, that truly stole the show.
Serena Williams Joins Kendrick Lamar on Stage
As Kendrick performed his hit “Not Like Us”, a song that has become the anthem of his ongoing feud with Drake, Serena appeared in a blue tennis skirt and matching top, showing off her moves in front of the roaring crowd.
The tennis superstar took to X (formerly Twitter) after the show to share her excitement, posting:
“Let’s go Super Bowl halftime! I died a little!”
In a behind-the-scenes clip, Serena joked about her onstage performance, saying:
“Man, I did not crip walk like that at Wimbledon. I would be fined!”
Serena’s presence on stage sent social media into a frenzy, especially since she was linked to Drake back in 2015. Fans speculated that her appearance was a major statement amid the Kendrick-Drake beef, considering she has publicly praised “Not Like Us” in the past.
Serena Williams Has Been a Fan of “Not Like Us”
This wasn’t the first time Serena Williams has voiced her love for Kendrick’s hit. Back in July 2024, at Essence Festival, she called the track the “hit of the summer” and made it clear that she was a fan.
“I love that song. It’s like the hit of the summer,” she said. “When they play that jam, I’m jamming. That jam is jamming.”
But she didn’t stop there. At the 2024 ESPY Awards, Serena took things a step further, joking about Drake’s ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar.
“If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us, not a single one of us, not even me, should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar,” she said. “He will make your hometown not like you. The next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re going to Forrest Gump him. Seats taken.”
A Halftime Show for the History Books
Aside from Serena’s standout moment, Kendrick’s Super Bowl halftime show featured appearances from SZA, another of Drake’s rumored exes, and Hollywood icon Samuel L. Jackson. The energy-packed performance solidified Lamar’s status as one of the greatest artists of his generation.
Meanwhile, Drake has yet to respond publicly to Kendrick’s Super Bowl jabs. However, with their feud still making headlines—and Drake recently suing Universal Music Group—this rivalry is far from over.
