Kendrick Lamar continues to dominate as he takes home the Song of the Year award at the 2025 Grammy Awards.

His track “Not Like Us”, which had already won Record of the Year, was once again honored at the prestigious ceremony. The hit song triumphed over tough competition, beating out Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Shaboozey, and Sabrina Carpenter to claim the award.

With this latest victory, Kendrick Lamar now has five Grammy wins this year. Taking the stage to accept his award, he delivered a powerful statement about hip-hop:
“In the end, there is nothing stronger than rap music.” – Kendrick Lamar declared – “We are the culture.”
Variety’s Predictions for “Song of the Year”
Before the awards ceremony, Variety had predicted that Billie Eilish’s song would take home the Song of the Year award.
“Although ‘Birds of a Feather’ could win Record of the Year, we are more confident in its chances for Song of the Year,” Variety stated.
The magazine also emphasized that Eilish and her brother/collaborator Finneas had spent nearly a year crafting the hit, which they believed would earn admiration from the songwriting community.
However, Variety also recognized Kendrick Lamar and Chappell Roan as strong contenders, and in the end, “Not Like Us” emerged as the standout track of the 2025 Grammy Awards.
