Keke Palmer Stuns in Classic Striped Ensemble While Promoting Her New Book in NYC
Keke Palmer showcased two distinct yet equally stunning looks while stepping out in New York City on Tuesday morning. The 31-year-old actress made a bold fashion statement, donning a vintage Vivienne Westwood ensemble from the designer’s Spring/Summer 1994 Cafe Society collection.
Promoting Her New Book
Keke exuded sophistication in a black-and-white striped coat paired with an asymmetrical skirt. She even added a personal touch by pinning a Vivienne Westwood brooch to her coat lapel.
Shortly after, Keke switched things up with a second look: a structured sleeveless sweater paired with sleek black trousers.
Keke is currently on a promotional tour for her new book, Master of Me: The Secret to Controlling Your Narrative, which was released on November 19. The book delves into her personal struggles, detailing how she transformed pain into power and offering life lessons for readers to apply in their own lives.
The star flaunted her toned physique in the striking vintage design, featuring a peplum-style coat with three gold buttons and a matching asymmetrical skirt that highlighted her slender legs. She completed the look with white high heels, styled her hair in soft brown waves, and sported chic bangs.
Discussing Boundaries and Personal Growth
During an appearance on CBS Mornings on Tuesday, Keke sat down with Gayle King for a candid interview. The conversation touched on her relationship with ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson, with whom she shares her son Leodis “Leo” Jackson, born in February 2023.
The couple’s split made headlines after Darius publicly criticized Keke for wearing a sheer gown while dancing with Usher during his concert. He tweeted, “It’s the outfit though… you’re a mom,” sharing a clip of Usher serenading Keke, a highlight he performs for VIP guests at his shows.
Keke addressed their dynamic, explaining that despite the breakup, they remain focused on co-parenting. “Honestly, I never thought I’d be in this position, so I’m grateful that we’re able to co-exist in this way and show up for our son,” she said, according to People. “It’s truly a blessing.”
Keke emphasized the need for setting boundaries, a topic she explores in her book. “Boundaries. Boundaries—I don’t think I’ve had enough of them,” she admitted. “I think about boundaries, and I talk about that a lot in the book. People can’t respect boundaries you don’t have, and sometimes it’s hard to create boundaries with people you love.”
She added, “It’s something I’ve always struggled with. I talk about it a lot in the book, particularly with my Christian background and the concept of forgiveness. It’s about showing up for yourself and for others.”
Master of Me reflects Keke’s journey of resilience, offering readers insights into how she navigated challenges and emerged stronger. Whether through her roles as an actress, author, or mother, Keke Palmer continues to inspire with her grace, authenticity, and wisdom.
