Kanye West Returns to X After Account Deactivation—But Something’s Changed

Kanye West has resurfaced on X (formerly Twitter) just three days after his account was deactivated following a series of vile, sexist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic rants.

The 47-year-old rapper’s profile vanished on Monday, sparking speculation that he had shut it down after his offensive tirade caused global outrage. But by Thursday, his account was back—though not without some major changes. His name quickly trended as social media users noticed his return.

What’s Different About Kanye’s X Account?

While his profile has been reinstated, almost all of his most offensive anti-Semitic posts have been deleted. However, some remnants of his controversial three-day rant remain in the replies section. Additionally, his profile now carries a ‘sensitive content’ warning for users who are not logged into X, though it is unclear when the label was added.

The message displayed to visitors reads:

“Caution: This profile may include potentially sensitive content. You’re seeing this warning because they post potentially sensitive images or language. Do you still want to view it?”

One of the only surviving posts from February 10 states:

“Since I’m getting kicked off Twitter soon, everybody is a Nazi until a real Nazi pulls up.”

It remains unknown whether Kanye himself removed his offensive posts or if they were taken down by X moderators.

Elon Musk’s Response and Kanye’s Last Tweet

Elon Musk, the owner of X, addressed the controversy, confirming that Kanye’s account had been classified as NSFW (Not Safe for Work) due to his disturbing posts.

Given what [Kanye] has posted, his account is now classified as NSFW. You should not be seeing that anymore,” Musk stated.

Before his profile vanished, Kanye thanked Musk for allowing him to express himself, comparing his ranting spree to a psychedelic experience.

“I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip.”

“Love all of you who gave me the energy and attention. Till we connect again. Good afternoon and goodnight.”

Backlash Over Kanye’s Latest Scandals

Kanye’s shocking outburst included racist, sexist, and anti-Semitic remarks, along with attacks on Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and plus-size models. He also repeated his controversial 2018 claim that “slavery was a choice.”

The backlash escalated further when Kanye used the Super Bowl to promote his fashion line, Yeezy, featuring a $20 T-shirt with a swastika—a move that led Shopify to remove his product. His bizarre self-filmed Super Bowl ad showed him smiling and saying:

“I spent all the money for the commercial on these new teeth. So once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Go to Yeezy.com.”

Hollywood figures have condemned his actions, with Isla Fisher calling him a “monster” and urging fans to unfollow him. David Schwimmer labeled him a “deranged bigot”, stating:

“His hate speech fuels real-life violence. Silence is complicity.”

Industry Fallout: Talent Agency & Film Project in Jeopardy

The backlash has already impacted Kanye professionally. On Monday, 33 & West talent agency announced it had cut ties with him. Agent Daniel McCartney stated:

“Effective immediately, I am no longer representing YE (F/K/A Kanye West) due to his recent harmful and hateful remarks that myself nor 33 & West can stand for. Peace and love to all.”

Additionally, sources claim Kanye’s $25 million fictional art film—partly shot in Japan—has been thrown into turmoil. His wife, Bianca Censori, who was cast in the lead role, is reportedly refusing to continue filming, feeling “deeply traumatized” by his actions. An insider told DailyMail.com:

Bianca is horrified by what Kanye has done. She does not align with these views at all. She is so put off that she is refusing to continue shooting.”

Two producers are also on the verge of quitting, putting the entire production on hold. The future of the film remains uncertain.

With his account reinstated but still under scrutiny, it remains to be seen whether Kanye will return to posting—or if X will step in to limit his reach further. His latest scandals have already cost him millions in deals and professional relationships, with more fallout likely to come.
