Jodie Turner-Smith Accuses Joshua Jackson of Seeking Sole Custody of Their Daughter

The ongoing legal battle between Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson is intensifying. Just two months after accusing her ex of failing to pay child support, the Queen & Slim actress has now alleged that Jackson is seeking sole legal custody of their 4-year-old daughter, Juno.

Jodie Turner-Smith Takes Legal Action

According to court documents filed on Feb. 3—obtained by E! News—Jodie claims that since their 2023 separation, Joshua has paid “$0 in guideline child and/or spousal support.” She also alleges that, rather than agreeing to reasonable payments, he has hired two law firms to push for full legal custody of their daughter.

Jodie, 38, asserts that she has tried to find a middle ground, but her efforts have been unsuccessful.

“At this point, it is clear that Josh is unwilling to negotiate reasonable pendente lite spousal and child support payments to me,” she stated in the filing. “I am left with no choice but to seek this Court’s intervention and file the instant motion.”

Jodie’s Financial Demands

As part of her legal petition, Jodie is requesting:

• $8,543 per month in child support
• $28,641 per month in spousal support
• A retroactive payment of $250,000 to cover legal fees incurred during their custody battle

She argues that these payments are justified because she was the primary caregiver to Juno while Joshua continued his successful acting career.

“Josh has been a successful working actor for over thirty years,” Jodie stated in the documents. “While I am significantly younger and still working hard to establish my acting career. During our marriage, Josh historically made more money than me and, at times, significantly more.”

A Promised Future Now in Dispute

Jodie’s latest filing follows an earlier December 2024 request, in which she claimed that Joshua had once promised to always support her financially if they ever separated.

She stated that he reassured her:
“I would not have to worry about financial security for our daughter because he understood how difficult life can be as a Black woman and a single mother.”

Joshua Jackson’s Response & Upcoming Court Date

Joshua Jackson, 46, has not yet publicly responded to the accusations. However, E! News has reached out to his representatives for comment.

The next court hearing is scheduled for April 11, 2025, where the judge will address Jodie’s financial demands and Joshua’s alleged pursuit of sole custody.
