Jake Paul Reveals His Toughest Opponent in the Ring
Jake Paul has been a professional boxer for five years, and he recently revealed the toughest opponent he has faced in the ring.
Jake Paul’s Professional Boxing Career
The 28-year-old turned professional in 2020 and has since fought 12 matches, securing 11 wins (including seven knockouts) with only one loss on his record.
In his most recent fight in November last year, “The Problem Child” stepped into the ring with boxing legend Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium in Texas. The fight drew 65 million live viewers on Netflix, where Paul defeated the 58-year-old Tyson by unanimous decision.
However, according to Jake Paul, this was not his toughest match. Appearing on the podcast “Ring Champs with Ak & Barak”, Paul shared who gave him the most trouble in the ring.
Who Hit Jake Paul the Hardest?
When asked, “Who has thrown the hardest punch you’ve ever taken?”, Paul immediately named Tommy “TNT” Fury.
“Probably Tommy,” he admitted. “I think his timing is more important than anything, right? Timing makes all the difference. Like, Tyron [Woodley] is strong, Mike Tyson is strong, but Tommy has better timing and punch placement.”
This is an interesting admission since Tommy Fury remains the only fighter to have beaten Jake Paul. In their February 2023 match, Fury landed 302 punches, nearly double Paul’s 157 punches, ultimately winning by split decision.
Could a Rematch Between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury Happen?
It’s possible! In December last year, Tommy Fury called out Jake Paul for a rematch after Paul pulled out of a fight against Darren Till.
“Yeah, I just woke up and saw Logan Paul talking on his podcast again about how I don’t want to fight Jake and that I’m scared. I also saw Jake tweeting the other day about offering me X, Y, Z on Netflix,” Fury stated.
“Let me be clear—I’m not running from this fight. I beat him once, I gave him his first loss. The moment he stepped in the ring with a real boxer, he lost fair and square.”
Fury continued his taunts:
“I can hand you a second loss, no problem. But first, let’s talk serious numbers. If you want to reach out, you know where to find me. It’s that simple. I could come back in a year and beat both you and your brother Logan.”
Jake Paul Fires Back on X
Not one to back down, Jake Paul immediately clapped back on X (formerly Twitter):
“What an idiot. Bro, you just pulled out of a fight for the third time. You have ZERO credibility.”
He also accused Fury of dodging the rematch for money:
“I offered you $8 million, and you ran away. And now you got dumped by Molly… and still can’t fight without your dad there. GTFOH [Get the f** out of here].”*
Paul took a direct shot at Fury’s breakup with Molly-Mae Hague, making the exchange even more personal.
As of now, there’s no official confirmation of a rematch between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury, but with these heated exchanges, could we see a highly anticipated showdown soon?
