Rui Marques Steps In as the New F1 Race Director
In a swift transition, the FIA has named Rui Marques as the new F1 race director, starting at the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Marques comes with substantial experience, having most recently served as race director for Formula 2 and Formula 3, the premier junior series that feed into Formula 1. Marques’ extensive background also includes positions as track marshal, scrutineer, national and international steward, and deputy race director across various championships.

In their statement, the FIA acknowledged Wittich’s contributions, stating: “Niels has fulfilled his numerous responsibilities as race director with professionalism and dedication.
