Cam’ron Reveals Why Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana’s Album ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ Was Never Released
Cam’ron has revealed what he believes to be the reason why the collaborative album between Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana was never released.

During a segment of his show Talk With Flee on February 11, Cam’ron stated that Lil Wayne failed to submit his fourth solo album to Universal Music Group, the parent company of Cash Money Records, on time, which led to restrictions on releasing any other projects.

The Reason Behind the Delay
According to Cam’ron, at that time, Lil Wayne was not yet a superstar, but rather an emerging star. Cam explained:
“Remember, Lil Wayne only truly became a superstar after Tha Carter album and A Milli. At that time, he still hadn’t released his first Tha Carter album.”
Cam’ron further explained that if I Can’t Feel My Face had been released, the profits that Juelz Santana and he would have received would have been extremely low, as Universal would take most of the revenue.
“Juelz and Lil Wayne had a project. But Def Jam is under Universal, where Lil Wayne was signed. So when they wanted to release this project, Universal told Def Jam, ‘Wayne hasn’t submitted his album yet, so if you want to release this, we will take 95%, and Def Jam will only get 5%.”
Cam’ron revealed that he and Juelz Santana would only receive 2.5% each, making the project financially unviable.
Prolonged Delays and the Final Outcome
Cam’ron stated that Universal considered releasing the album later after Lil Wayne dropped his next solo project. However, the prolonged delay lasted for years, ultimately leading to the project being canceled.
Nevertheless, Cam’ron’s timeline may not be entirely accurate, as Tha Carter was released in 2004, while Wayne and Juelz’s collaboration was first announced in 2005. Additionally, Lil Wayne’s fifth solo album, Tha Carter II, was released in December 2005, so Cam may have been referring to Tha Carter III, which was delayed until June 2008.
The I Can’t Feel My Face project has since become one of the most famous unreleased collaborative albums in rap history.
