Brad Pitt bares it all—revealing hidden tattoos with ties to Angelina Jolie
Brad Pitt made a rare move by showing off his bare chest in a shirt-free promotional photo for his highly anticipated Grand Prix film, F1. The 61-year-old Hollywood icon stunned fans as he revealed dozens of tattoos sprawled across his chest and arms while reclining on a yellow sofa in off-white slacks.

A Rare Look at Pitt’s Extensive Ink Collection
The tattoos are not part of his F1 character—they are his real, permanent markings, many of which have deep personal meanings. Pitt first started getting tattoos during his relationship with Angelina Jolie, who is known for her extensive ink collection, including Know Your Rights and a symbolic cross.
Several of Pitt’s tattoos appear to honor Jolie, such as her birthday inked on his lower torso in Khmer, the official language of Cambodia, where their son Maddox was born. He also has the letter “A” near a cross on his right arm, presumably for her name, along with the initials of all six of their children: “M” for Maddox, “P” for Pax, “Z” for Zahara, “S” for Shiloh, “K” for Knox, and “V” for Vivienne.
Hidden Meanings Behind Pitt’s Tattoos
Pitt’s tattoos reflect various aspects of his life and interests. Some of the most notable include:
– A French phrase on his left forearm translating to “Life is absurd.”
– A sketch of Ötzi the Iceman, the world’s oldest mummy, beneath which he has “Invictus” inked, meaning “unconquerable” in Latin.
– A long, thin vertical line running up his right arm intersecting with a horizontal line just below his wrist, forming a cross.
– A poetic excerpt from Rumi inked on the inside of his right bicep: “There exists a field, beyond all notions of right and wrong. I will meet you there.”
– A black silhouette of a man standing above his shadow.
– A tornado sketch on his left hip, a rhinoceros head, and a human skull on his legs.
– The words “Alpha” and “Omega,” symbolizing the beginning and end.
– A hand-drawn design by Angelina Jolie on his back, later turned into a permanent tattoo.
– A motorcycle sketch on his upper arm, reflecting his passion for riding.
F1: Pitt’s High-Octane Racing Film
Pitt’s new film, F1, is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025. The high-speed action film, directed by Top Gun: Maverick filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, has been in production for several years. Filming took place at real Formula 1 races worldwide, including locations in Las Vegas, Mexico City, and Abu Dhabi.
The movie stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula 1 driver who returns to the sport as a mentor to a young rising star, played by Damson Idris. The film also features Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
The Dramatic “Fainting” Scene
Last November, Pitt made headlines when he collapsed on the track in Las Vegas during a scene for the movie. Dressed in full racing gear, the Fight Club actor was filmed staggering before dramatically fainting onto a padded mat held by a crew member. The staged incident was part of a race crash sequence meant to add authenticity to the film’s intense action sequences.
To further build anticipation, the fictional race team in the movie, APX GP, released a mock statement following Pitt’s on-track “injury“:
“During Qualifying, Sonny sustained a significant impact requiring immediate medical evaluation. Incidents of this magnitude are always taken seriously, and Sonny’s health remains our top priority. While Sonny is otherwise stable, he will not participate in tomorrow’s race as he focuses on recovery. The entire team stands behind him, and we’ll provide updates when available. Joshua will race solo tomorrow, carrying the team forward.”
The Buzz Around F1
The upcoming film has been made in collaboration with Formula 1 and features contributions from all 10 F1 teams, their drivers, the FIA, and race promoters to ensure an authentic racing experience. The project is being produced by Pitt alongside F1 star Lewis Hamilton.
Apple reportedly acquired the F1 package for a massive $130 million–$140 million, excluding salaries for principal actors, the director, writer, and producers. The first trailer, released in July, teases an adrenaline-pumping ride as Pitt speeds around the track with Queen’s We Will Rock You playing in the background.
