“We are very privileged tonight to be joined by the runner-up in New York’s recent Timothée Chalamet competition. Welcome to the BAFTAs. I can see it, young man. There is a definite likeness, isn’t there? How long are you in London?”
Chalamet, taking it in stride, responded: “Three days.”
Tennant wasn’t done yet, humorously critiquing Chalamet’s voice:
“You’ve got to work on the voice—not quite got the voice yet. Lovely attention to detail, though—he is with a Kylie Jenner lookalike.”

The organizers were slapped with a $500 fine for hosting an “unpermitted costume contest,” and at least one doppelgänger was dragged away in handcuffs as the crowd chanted, “Let him go!”
One witness, Megan Hattie Stahl, 33, described the surreal scene to DailyMail.com:
“It was really funny—like a spectacle. The people filming it and the people reacting to the cops became another layer of spectacle. It was just absurd.
