Angelina Jolie Stuns with Bold Beauty Look at Critics Choice 2025
Angelina Jolie, a Best Actress nominee for Maria at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, made a powerful statement on the red carpet without saying a word—stepping away from her usual beauty style.
Angelina Jolie’s Daring Red Carpet Look
Not every award show is a family affair! Jolie arrived solo at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, breaking her trend of bringing her 19-year-old daughter, Zahara, as her date for the season. Instead, her most striking companion of the night was her bold red lip, a rare departure from her signature neutral makeup.
The rest of Jolie’s look was equally breathtaking. She graced the event in a romantic bisque-colored Elie Saab dress, delivering a subtly stunning aesthetic. (Check out all the fashion highlights from the 2025 Critics Choice Awards!)

A Night of Glamour in Santa Monica
The ceremony, hosted once again by Chelsea Handler, took place at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. Originally scheduled for January, the event was delayed by a month due to the Los Angeles wildfires, creating a more intimate yet equally glamorous red carpet affair.
Angelina Jolie’s Red Carpet Evolution
While Jolie attended solo this time, she previously brought Zahara to the 2025 Golden Globes. Reflecting on her journey, the actress shared how much has changed since she took home her Golden Globe for Girl, Interrupted in 2000.
“Now I’m here with my daughter, so I’m here as a mom. That’s different,” she told Live from E!’s Zuri Hall during the Golden Globes red carpet interview.
Family Matters: Jolie’s Kids Behind the Scenes
While Zahara has been her mom’s red carpet companion multiple times this season, Angelina’s son Knox, 16, joined her for a rare mother-son outing at the Governors Awards in November.
Despite growing up in the public eye, Jolie’s six children prefer to stay private. She previously revealed to E! News in October that Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (18), Shiloh (18), and twins Knox and Vivienne (16) prefer life behind the scenes.
“They’re especially shy, very private people, and they want to be private,” Jolie explained.

Still, her kids are taking an active role in the entertainment industry—but behind the camera. Vivienne recently worked as her assistant while Jolie produced the Tony-winning Broadway musical The Outsiders. Meanwhile, Maddox and Pax gained experience working as assistant directors on Maria.
“Mad and Pax were on this one doing AD [assistant directing] work,” Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter in August. “They’ve done that quite a few times, and I think that’s good for them.”
With Maria generating major buzz, Jolie’s Critics Choice Awards appearance only added to the excitement surrounding her latest project. Will she take home the big win? Stay tuned!
