Pop Smoke’s Mother Speaks Out After Murder Trial Verdict
The pain never fades.

In an emotional statement, Jackson shared her feelings with Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon. Instead of relief, she expressed the endless grief of a mother who lost her son far too soon.
“This is never over for me. And that’s what’s unfair,” she said, making it clear that no court decision could ever bring back her beloved son. While she acknowledged that justice had been served, it doesn’t change her reality.
“I appreciate that they received the highest level of justice allowed by law. But my life hasn’t changed. I still don’t have my son.”
A Mother’s Mission: Keeping Pop Smoke’s Legacy Alive
Since the rapper’s tragic passing in 2020, Audrey Jackson has dedicated herself to preserving her son’s memory. Her mission extends beyond grief—she has been vocal against any disrespect toward her son’s name.

One of the most egregious moments came in 2024, when Blockstar, one of the individuals involved in Pop Smoke’s murder, was released from juvenile detention. Shockingly, instead of showing remorse, he appeared on Adam22’s No Jumper podcast, openly discussing the crime without a hint of regret.
The interview immediately sparked outrage. Fans of Pop Smoke felt that both Blockstar and Adam22 were using the rapper’s death for clout and entertainment. Audrey Jackson was among those who condemned the interview.
Fighting Back Against Disrespect
In an interview with Hot 97’s TT Torres, Jackson didn’t hold back in criticizing the podcast.
“It was beyond disrespectful,” she said. Though she admitted she didn’t watch the full interview, she heard enough to know it was painful and infuriating.
Rather than letting it consume her, Jackson took a powerful stance. “I have to block it out because it would eat me alive. I have to move past it,” she explained. However, she also delivered a stark message to Blockstar: “Your life is over. You may be alive, but if this is your approach to what you’ve done, then your life is already finished.”
Pop Smoke’s Legacy Will Never Die

Though Pop Smoke is no longer physically here, his impact on music and culture is undeniable. His deep, gravelly voice and innovative sound helped define a new era of Brooklyn drill music, inspiring countless artists worldwide.
His mother remains dedicated to ensuring that her son is remembered for his talent, ambition, and influence—not just the tragedy of his death.
As for those responsible for his murder, justice has caught up to them. But for Audrey Jackson, true justice would be having her son back—something no court ruling can ever provide.
