In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Lil Wayne, the New Orleans-born rapper, surprised many by revealing that he cannot remember any songs from his famous albums.
“I don’t know anything about Tha Carter III, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter I, or Tha Carter IV,” he admitted candidly.
“And that’s the truth. You could ask me about any song, and I wouldn’t even know what we’re talking about.”
Memory Loss and Its Impact on Life
The 40-year-old rapper shared that he doesn’t dwell on his past musical projects, simply because he no longer remembers them.
Lil Wayne’s memory loss is so severe that he can’t recall when his major albums were released. He mentioned Tha Carter III as an example but couldn’t pinpoint its release date.
History of Health Issues
Lil Wayne has long battled serious health challenges, including epilepsy. According to Rolling Stone, in 2017, the “Sucker for Pain” rapper had to cancel a show in Las Vegas after experiencing multiple seizures. At that time, he was found unconscious in a Chicago hotel room.
Never Giving Up
Despite his health and memory struggles, Lil Wayne assured Rolling Stone that he has no plans to stop.
“My drive isn’t about proving I’m still me,” he explained.
“My drive is to show them why I’m still me. I want the younger generation of rappers to learn something from this journey.”
