Lil Baby Confirms a Joint Album with Young Thug: “It’s Definitely Happening”
The Atlanta rap scene just got hotter as Lil Baby reassures fans that a joint album with Young Thug is “definitely” on the way. Their latest collaboration, “Dum, Dumb and Dumber,” is just the beginning of what fans can expect from these two heavyweights.
A Reunion in the Studio
In a recent interview with Complex’s Jordan Rose, Lil Baby opened up about reuniting with Young Thug shortly after Thug’s release from prison in November. Young Thug had been embroiled in a grueling legal battle involving YSL Records, making his return to music a momentous occasion.
“Maybe the second or third day after Thug came home, we were all in the studio,” Lil Baby shared. “We had food, chefs cooking for us, and even the malls came to us with clothes. It felt just like the old days, like when I first came home.”
Lil Baby himself is no stranger to prison. At just 19, he served a two-year sentence for probation violations. That shared experience has only strengthened the bond between the two artists.
“When I first got out, I remember Thug was in London, but three days later, he came back. I didn’t rap back then, but I had the same energy, the same vibe as we all do now. It’s amazing to see him back, surrounded by love and positivity.”
Creating Magic Again
Lil Baby revealed that while “Dum, Dumb and Dumber” wasn’t the first track they recorded together after Thug’s release, it symbolizes the renewed energy in their music. “It’s a big deal for me because it reflects everything I’ve gone through in the past two years. What happened to Thug could’ve easily happened to me.”
Over the span of ten days in the studio, the duo recorded multiple tracks, with Lil Baby proudly claiming the first Young Thug verse released since his return. “We’ve got tons of songs, but I didn’t want to overwhelm him. It’s about pacing ourselves.”
A Joint Album in the Works
When asked about future projects, Lil Baby confirmed that fans can expect not just one but two potential collaborations—albums with both Young Thug and Future, who also contributed to “Dum.”
“We’ve been in the studio almost every day since he came home,” he said. “There’s no shortage of material. Thug’s energy is incredible, and it’s inspiring to see him bounce back. We’re putting in the work, and when it’s time, the music will speak for itself.”
The reunion isn’t just about making music—it’s a celebration of resilience, love, and creativity. Lil Baby described the studio sessions as filled with positivity, a reminder of how far they’ve come.
“Seeing everyone come together to support Thug and lift him up was powerful. It’s like love is in the air again. This album, when it drops, will be more than just music. It’s a testament to everything we’ve overcome and everything we’re building.”
As fans eagerly await the full release, one thing is clear: Lil Baby and Young Thug are back, and they’re ready to dominate the rap game like never before. Stay tuned—this is just the beginning.
