Tasha K Accuses Cardi B of Sabotaging Her Bankruptcy Over $3.4 Million Defamation Case
Three years after being ordered to pay Cardi B $3.4 million in damages for defamation, YouTube blogger Tasha K is accusing the rapper of attempting to “sabotage” her career and bankruptcy filing. The allegations come amidst a legal and financial tug-of-war that’s as contentious as it is complex.
A Brewing Battle
In new legal documents, the 42-year-old blogger, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, claims that Grammy-winning artist Belcalis Almánzar (Cardi B) is engaging in “financial bullying.” According to Tasha K, Cardi has revealed her “secret offshore trust accounts” in locations like the Cook Islands, Nevis, and Georgia to pressure her financially.
The ongoing feud began when Cardi B sued Tasha K for defamation in 2019. The case centered around damaging claims made by Tasha on her YouTube channel, Unwine With Tasha K, alleging that Cardi was a drug-addicted prostitute with sexually transmitted diseases. The court sided with Cardi, awarding her millions in damages. Since then, tensions between the two have only escalated.
Accusations of Extravagance
In the latest development, Cardi B’s attorneys have alleged that Tasha K is fraudulently transferring assets to her husband, Cheickna Kebe, and his business to avoid paying the judgment. They also claim Tasha is living a “luxurious lifestyle,” including upgrading to a $7,000/month apartment, despite declaring less than $60,000 in assets in her bankruptcy filings.
The legal team has asked the Florida Bankruptcy Court to dismiss Tasha K’s bankruptcy filing and bar her from filing again for two years. Cardi B argues that the blogger’s claims of having just $95 in her bank account don’t align with her public displays of wealth, including hosting a sold-out New Year’s Eve party for 400 fans at a Houston event center.
This isn’t Tasha K’s first brush with high-profile lawsuits. Over the years, she has been sued for defamation by celebrities like Kevin Hart, R. Kelly, and Soulja Boy. While some cases were dismissed, others have cemented her reputation as a polarizing figure in entertainment gossip.
Cardi B’s Perspective
Meanwhile, Cardi B, 32, remains focused on her career. The rapper has hinted at releasing her long-awaited sophomore album in 2025, following her chart-topping debut, Invasion of Privacy (2018). Cardi, known for her candor, recently told fans on Instagram Live that January is critical for her plans:
“If I don’t stay focused, it’ll ruin the whole schedule for the year,” she said, adding that she’s even putting romantic distractions aside to prioritize her work.
A Tumultuous Personal Life
Adding to the drama, Cardi B is navigating her separation from husband Offset after six years of marriage. The rapper filed for divorce in mid-2024, citing irreconcilable differences. She’s seeking custody of their three children, including their newborn daughter, whose name has not yet been revealed.
As Tasha K continues her legal battle and Cardi B gears up for a major album release, their paths remain entwined in this bitter saga. Cardi is also up for Best Rap Performance at the upcoming 67th Grammy Awards on February 2.
While the court case plays out, one thing is certain: the feud between these two public figures shows no signs of cooling down anytime soon.
